Just days after the successful conclusion of Challenge Tlaxcala, the Beach Volleyball World Tour returns to Mexico with Challenge Nayarit, which will bring together the best players in the world seeking ranking points toward the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, the National Commission for Physical Culture and Sport (CONADE) announced in a press release.

Bahía de Banderas will host the tournament, which for the fifth consecutive year confirms Mexico as one of the best sporting hosts by hosting at least two stages of the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) circuit.

The Mexican National Team will participate with four pairs: Atenas Gutiérrez/Susana Torres, Ana Cepek/Ana Juárez, Inés Lares/Carlos Ayala, and Jorman Osuna/Miguel Sarabia, who will look to shine in front of their home crowd at a temporary stadium with a capacity of 1,500 spectators.

The event will also feature prominent international athletes with experience in the Olympic Games and World Championships, such as Italy’s Samuele Cottafava, Austria’s Alexander Horst and Julian Horl, Poland’s Piotr Kantor, the Netherlands’ Matthew Immers, and Australia’s Thomas Hodges.

The government of the state of Nayarit, led by Miguel Navarro Quintero, announced that admission will be free on March 25, 26, and 27, with the goal of making this major competition accessible to the entire population.

The National Sports Commission (CONADE) emphasized that hosting these events in Mexico is possible thanks to the collaboration between the commission, state governments, and the FIVB, strengthening Mexico’s presence in international beach volleyball.
