Nayarit Attorney General Elvia Ludmila Heredia revealed that, following the arrest of 10 individuals linked to the placement of banners containing messages from criminal groups in Nayarit, authorities managed to thwart an attack against her and state Governor Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero that had already been planned.

“They had an attack against me and the governor ready, precisely now that the prosecutors’ conference was held in Nuevo Nayarit. They had the routes through which they were going to execute us.”

A few weeks ago, four banners appeared: one in San Cayetano and another at Puente Los Lobos.

“Internal groups are fighting among themselves; they are pretending that there is interference from outsiders.”

The prosecutor said that the evidence will be presented before a judge and that some of the information will remain confidential so as not to compromise the investigation or put witnesses at risk.

FGR destroys chemical precursors and drugs in Nayarit

Days ago, the Attorney General’s Office (FGR) destroyed more than 13.5 tons of chemical precursors, nearly one ton of various narcotics, and 393 slot machines in Nayarit that were linked to various prosecutorial investigations.

According to the agency, 13 tons, 561 kilograms, and 595 grams of chemical substances were destroyed, along with 21,677 liters and 870 milliliters of precursors related to the seizure of a possible clandestine laboratory detected by members of the Mexican Government’s Security Cabinet.

During the operation, 56 objects considered instruments or proceeds of crime were also destroyed, as well as the 393 slot machines seized in various case files.

Regarding narcotics, the FGR reported that 943 kilograms, 74 grams, and 20 milligrams of various substances were incinerated.

Of the total, 415 kilograms, 197 grams, and 620 milligrams corresponded to marijuana; 337 kilograms, 227 grams to cannabis plants; and 170 kilograms, 716 grams to methamphetamine hydrochloride.

The list also included 10 kilograms, 447 grams, and 500 milligrams of poppy plants; seven kilograms, 326 grams, and 600 milligrams of opium; and one kilogram, 896 grams, and 50 milligrams of heroin hydrochloride.

Also destroyed were 263 grams and 650 milligrams of cocaine hydrochloride, 100 milligrams of marijuana seeds, and one unit of delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol.

The procedure was supervised by the Federal Public Prosecutor’s Office, personnel from the FGR’s Internal Control Body, experts, and members of the Federal Ministerial Police.

Representatives from the Secretariat of Security and Citizen Protection, the Secretariat of the Navy, the National Guard, the National Intelligence Center, the Secretariat of the Interior, the Nayarit State Attorney General’s Office, the Superior Court of Justice, and the Commission for the Defense of Human Rights also participated in the operation, along with state government officials.

Authorities stated that the destruction of substances, precursors, and objects linked to illicit activities is part of actions aimed at disrupting the supply chains used by criminal organizations and reducing their operational capacity.
