A former employee of the Government of Nayarit uncovered the behavior of Miguel Ángel Navarro Quintero with the female staff of his assistants and secretaries.
According to an anonymous testimony, for fear of reprisals, the president, using his authority, cites female workers in the recesses of his private office in the Government Palace to make them indecent sexual proposals.
The president, 71 years old, was exposed last weekend through a letter addressed to the President of the Republic, Claudia Sheinbaum, in which the intervention of the National Institute of Women is requested, as well as the president of the Institute of Women in Nayarit and the local and federal deputies to look at what is happening in the entity.
The person who wrote the letter says she is a single mother and claims to have been a victim of Navarro Quintero’s flirting and insinuations.
She claims to have lost her job for not agreeing to them. She also adds that she is not the only one affected, assuring that there are many more women who have suffered the same thing and who have felt like trophies given to the governor “as a reward for their work.”
“I have realized that there have been many of us. How many women have gone through the uncomfortable and scary moment of receiving his compliments and poems, trying to sweeten the ear with something as bitter and dirty as using the woman as an object of enjoyment for him, as a reward for his day of work?” she said.
The former employee denounced that Navarro Quintero, under the pretext of his work performance, called her to congratulate her, turning the meeting into something more intimate.
