The Nayarit State Council for Culture and the Arts (CECAN) has launched a new digital initiative to bring the state’s vast cultural wealth closer to the public. This initiative involves the release of the first episode of the web series “Heritage Routes,” available since April 3rd on the official YouTube channel “Cultura Nayarit.”

This first episode, titled “Museum of the Five Towns,” invites viewers on a virtual tour of one of Nayarit’s most emblematic cultural sites. The audiovisual production aims to highlight the history, collections, and importance of this museum in preserving and disseminating the traditions and legacy of the state’s indigenous peoples. With this project, CECAN reaffirms its commitment to cultural promotion and accessibility, using digital platforms to reach a wider audience.

According to reports from the Council itself, the “Heritage Routes” series aims to explore and document diverse historical sites, living traditions, and artistic expressions that shape Nayarit’s identity. The choice of the Museum of the Five Towns to launch the series underscores the importance of Indigenous cultures in the region’s cultural landscape, offering a glimpse into their worldview and contributions to society. This initiative represents a significant effort to connect new generations with their roots and foster an appreciation for local heritage. Future installments are expected to explore other cultural and heritage sites in Nayarit.
