An association of tourism professionals has been created in Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit, following the transformation of Skal into a figure with greater scope and impact in the management of the destination.
This was announced by Javier Ruiz Hermoso, president of Skal Puerto Vallarta-Riviera Nayarit, who explained that the organization is no longer operating solely as a club to become an association with a more active role in regional planning and development.
“Skal Puerto Vallarta-Riviera Nayarit is transitioning from a club to an association of tourism professionals with a relevance and importance that has to do with the management of the territory,” he said.
One of the main challenges that this new stage will face is the generation of strategic information for decision-making. Ruiz Hermoso stressed that it is necessary to produce data and processed statistics that allow the design of more effective public policies and strategies for the tourism, urban, and social development of the region.
The association is part of a network with a presence in 27 locations in Mexico and more than 300 worldwide, which allows the exchange of experiences, case studies, and solution models to challenges related to tourism, urban development, and mobility.
“We have that information and expertise that allows us to share different case studies and ways to face tourism, urban development, and mobility challenges and to be able to make decisions that allow, in this case, Puerto Vallarta and Riviera Nayarit to improve the living conditions of the local population,” he said.
