Four people managed to escape their homes early this morning after tons of mud and earth suddenly slid into their former home in Mojarritas, Santiago Ixcuintla municipality. One of them was taken to a hospital in Tepic due to a severe mental breakdown.
The heavy and constant rains in the area caused this landslide, which also affected another home, although to a lesser extent.
In the municipality of Ruiz, a landslide due to a rising stream in the town of El Venado is blocking traffic to the Del Nayar mountain area. State and municipal authorities are working in the area to free it as quickly as possible.
In this same report of rain damage, last night, Tuesday, in the mountain municipality of La Yesca, two young people were trapped on the roof of their truck while a stream was flowing with extreme force next to it. They tried to cross it with their vehicle and were swept away. Local residents rescued them with ropes.
