Given the increase in infections by COVID-19 around the world, and in response to the Red Traffic Light in force in the state of Guanajuato, the municipal government of San Miguel de Allende issued new measures that will take effect on Monday, January 11.

After a working meeting with the health cabinet and in agreement with the State Government’s Health Secretariat, Luis Alberto Villarreal, municipal president, determined to reinforce the sanitary filters in the accesses of the city to prevent the mobility of the virus from a city to another.

In adherence to state and federal regulations, the holding of events of any kind, including social events, conventions, and business events, as well as all kinds of festivities, is suspended.

The hours of sale of alcoholic beverages in restaurants is limited to 8:00 at night, while the closing continues until 10:30 p.m., with a capacity of 50 percent.

The dry law is also maintained for the sale of closed bottle alcohol from Fridays from 5:00 p.m., Saturdays, and Sundays, resuming until Monday at 12:00 p.m.

The hotels will continue to operate at 50 percent of their capacity, while in the markets and tianguis the provision is maintained so that only merchants can be installed that prove they reside permanently in the municipality; likewise, the capacity in centers of worship remains at 30 percent, as in spas and recreational parks.

In the parks, gardens, and avenues that are operating, the allowed capacity will continue to be 50 percent. The operation of gyms is maintained according to the capacity that appears in the “Health First” certificate; beauty salons, barbershops, and hairdressers may operate only with reservation, waiting rooms are prohibited.

To reinforce the correct application of the actions decreed by the City Council, it is reiterated that non-compliance with health protocols will result in the cancellation of the “Health First” certification and will force the closure and closure of the business.
